We have made the move from the apartment to the house here in Dickinson! It was a very stressful week last week, but we made it through. We some stuff from Lincoln to make this house feel like home. We brought the hounds back on Sunday, but we made the realization that the 93 pound Black Lab can NOT be a house dog!! He is like a bull in a china store. Dan is going to build a dog house and insulate it for him so he can be outside. We will bring him in the house when it gets really cold outside, but for the most part, he will be outside. Both dogs have made a great transition, they seem to be really good about change. It is the adults that have the harder time!!

We are excited for Thanksgiving. We will be going to see Grandma in the morning and then to Dan's aunt Karen and Pete's house in Bismarck. We will spend the evening with my parents over at the house so we can get our game faces on and plan our shopping strategies for Friday morning!! I think we say every year after we get home from shopping on Friday that we are not going another year, but we always go!! Last year, dad and I witnessed a fist fight outside of Menards, so I think we will avoid there this year!! Dan of course stated that he will not get up and go, but he will be sending his list!!! I will let you know about our shopping fun!!

Moving

It has been a crazy couple of weeks for us. Dan spent last week hunting with dad and with a good friend. He got a big buck while hunting with Todd and was very proud!! He called me after he shot it and all that I could make out of his words was, " I got the BIG one!!" I will try to post a picture on here when he gets them downloaded. Work for me is picking up. I welcome the busy times, it has been a little boring up to this point!! I am going to classes to work on starting a program in the school so that has been keeping me busy.
We finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! We will start to move things in to the house in Dickinson tonight. They are going to allow us to stay the night there on Thursday before we close because we have to be out of our apartment by Thursday. We are very excited to get out of the apartment, it is really getting to be CLOSE!!! We are the most excited to have our furry friends join us here in Dickinson. It is sad how close we have gotten to them! I think the biggest shock is how much Dan misses Mattie. He asks for an update everyday on how she is doing at papa & nana's.
I continue to travel a lot for my job. I will be in Bismarck on Wednesday night and then on to Minot for Thursday. It gets to be a lot of travel and I am ready to just spend a whole week in Dickinson!!
I got to go shopping with mom last weekend, something that we do best together. I was able to get a lot of Christmas shopping done. I can't believe how fast the Christmas season is coming.
I will try to post pictures of the apartment that we are living in and of the house in Dickinson this week. That's all for now!!

Updates:-)

Dan and I are holding up here in Dickinson. It has been a long and cold week here!! We have finally gotten all of our stuff done to get the loan for the house here. We will be closing on November 21st!! We are very excited to have a house here, it is getting to be VERY close quarters in the apartment!! We are also very excited to have our puppies come and live with us. Trigger will become an inside dog this winter since the garage is very small and it does not lead to the backyard. He will occupy our basement that needs new carpet anyway!! Mattie will probably not even care that we are around since Trigger will be inside. when we are in Lincoln, all she wants to do is go outside with Trigger!! It will be a crazy house!! Our house in Lincoln still has not sold, but hopefully now that the election is over, people will be more positive about buying.

Dan is of course gearing up for Deer hunting. He has taken off all of next week so he can go with Todd to his family's farm and hunt. Dan will also be going with dad down at the farm next week too. He is in his glory!! Unfortunately, I will be working since I do not have any vacation!! Although, I will be spending Tuesday and Wednesday in Bismarck for work.

I hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this blizzard!! We got 5 inches yesterday, and the roads are very icy. We will be heading back to Bismarck tonight at a very slow pace!!

Politics and other Garbage

So, America has spoken and Obama will be our leader. I know there are so many mixed ideas and OPINIONS. But you know what they say about opinions....they are like ass holes, everyone has one! I am a true believer that it is not just one person that runs this country. Why is everyone so worked up about one person?? Living with a military husband I have heard all the negatives that Obama brings to the table, but McCain is no perfect sole either. No matter how people feel about Obama, he is our president and we need to embrace what will come and deal with it. This is truly out of our hands and hopefully there is a higher power that will guide all who have the power to make the changes that we so desperately need. I do have to say one thing though, the speech that Obama gave last night was spoken from the heart. He did not have to have another person write it for him and try to read it word for word!! That is all I will say about our current leader!! And Dan if you read this, I do NOT want to talk politics!!!!
